Good things come in threes: Claus Bjerre who accumulated over 700,000 admissions in Denmark for his first and second remakes of the Danish 1950s classics, is now shooting his third feature Far til fire-på hjemmebane (Father of Four-Homefield Advantage) again for production houses ASA Film and Scanbox who will also handle the domestic release. The film, set to shoot all summer was awarded a DKK 5 million grant.
Also busy shooting this summer will be Giacomo Campeotto, who has signed on for his second directorial role for the third Knights Templar adventure film. In Tempelriddernes skat III: mysteriet on slangekronen (The Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar III: the Mystery of the Snake Crown - pictured), the four young heroes and the Templar Grand Master will travel to Malta to return the Snake Crown to the Order of Maltese Knights. M&M Production is producing, with financial support from the Malta Film Commission, TV2 Denmark and Film Fyn. The DFI allocation was DKK 5.5 million.
Kandidaten (The Candidate) is the new film by Kasper Barfoed who directed the first Knights Templar series. Starring Nikolaj Kaas, Ulf Pilgaard, Tuva Novotny, Laura Christensen and Kim Bodnia, it's the story of a successful defence attorney, Jonas Nymann, who one day is accused of murder. In his hunt for a group of blackmailers who threaten to expose him as the killer, his investigation links him back to his father's death a year and a half earlier. The film produced by Miso Film was awarded DKK 6 million.
