The current Head of Department, Production and Development at the Norwegian Film Institute will replace Aage Aaberge in the fall 2018. Aaberge who has been running the Norwegian production arm of Nordisk Film since 2015, will continue to work for the company as in-house producer.

Golimo is one of Norway’s most high-profile film and TV executives. Before joining the NFI in 2013 to head the institute’s production department, he worked for another prominent Norwegian production company - Filmkameratene - on mega-projects such as the TV drama The Heavy Water War and feature films Max Manus and Trollhunters. Nordisk Film Production Norway said in their statement that Golimo’s appointment is “part of the company’s strategy of becoming the leading film producer in the Nordics”.

Henrik Zein, CEO at Nordisk Film Production said:” I am pleased that Sveinung Golimo has accepted to become the new Head of Nordisk Film Production AS in Norway. With his extensive network, unique knowledge of the Norwegian film business, and international outlook, he will create further momentum in our Norwegian production company and strengthen the Scandinavian collaboration. At the same time, Aage Aaberge will now be able to dedicate himself 100 per cent to new film and TV projects.”

Golimo said:” The Norwegian film and TV business is a melting pot with both high-profile international talent and new up-coming talent. I now look forward to working together with the many experienced and competent people at Nordisk Film to develop new and exciting film and TV projects for local as well as international audiences.”

Besides Aaberge, other in-house producers at Nordisk Film Production Norway comprise Sigurd Mikal Karoliussen, John Einar Hagen and Elisabeth Kvithyll. The company’s most recent film production, The 12th Man by Harald Zwart is still number one at the Norwegian box office after three weeks on screens, with more than 471,104 admissions. The WW2 drama and survival film featuring national hero Jan Baalsrud, has been sold by TrustNordisk to several countries including the US (IFC).

Nordisk Film’s upcoming TV drama is Twin, starring Game of Thrones’ Kristofer Hvju, co-creator of the 8x45’ show with Kristoffer Metcalfe. The latter shares the directing credit with Erika Calmeyer. The drama thriller focuses on a surfer-bum who takes on the identity of his twin brother following his accidental death. Shooting is scheduled for this spring.
