Sweden’s TV4 Group and CMore have hired the former Swedish Film Institute executive Suzanne Glansborg as Head of Feature Film. Glansborg left the Swedish Film Institute in June after six years at the institute, working first as feature film commissioner and subsequently as commissioner for drama series and international co-productions. She was also Eurimages Swedish representative since 2010.
Her new responsibilities at the Bonnier-owned commercial TV4 and pay TV arm CMore comprise supervising all film co-productions and liaising between the drama and acquisitions departments regarding Nordic and international drama series.
TV4 and CMore have co-produced successful Swedish films such as The 100 Year-old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared, Ruben Östlund’s Force Majeure, Peter Grönlund’s Drifters as well as the Danish TV dramas Dicte and Badehotellet/The Seaside Hotel.
Josefine Tengblad, Head of Drama for TV4-CMore says the hiring of Glansborg is yet another step in the group’s bet on local drama. “With successes like Modus, Beck, Ack Värmland and Solsidan, we’ve seen how strong local drama is. This is where audiences spend their viewing time-whatever the platform,” she said.
Upcoming high profile Swedish dramas set to premiere on TV4 this autumn include Syrror (Swedish version of the Finnish hit series Nurses), while the crime shows Saknad (Missing) directed by Colin Nutley and Ola Rapace vehicle Farang will premiere on CMore early 2017.
