More than 20 international professionals will attend the 5th networking and training Nordic event in Cannes (May 19-22).

Sundance’s senior programmer and scout John Nein will discuss festival strategy alongside Carlo Chaltrain, Artistic Director at the Locarno Film Festival; Director/scriptwriter Lone Scherfig , producers Louise Vesth and Sisse Graum Jørgensen of Zentropa Entertainment, and Riina Zachariassen of Bacon Pictures will detail Production and Financing strategies for low to medium budget films, while producer Grimar Jónsson of Iceland’s Netop Films (RAMS) will explain ‘How to work with a director in Cannes’. 

Distribution and acquisition strategies will be outlined by Nordisk Film’s executives Christopher Juhl Seidelin and Rasmus Krogh, as well as Camera Film’s Mette Søgaard and Kim Foss; International press relations by Screendaily’s Nordic correspondent Wendy Mitchell and Sales strategies by LevelK’s Tine Klint. Other speakers include Danish producer Katja Adomeit and Thomas Gammeltoft (Copenhagen Film Fund).

Twenty-six emerging Nordic producers with their own newly created company or established companies such as Snowglobe (DK), Garagefilm International (Sweden), Matila Röhr Productions (Finland) or Nordisk Film Production will take part in the networking and training programme co-organised by Noemi Ferrer (Head of International, Danish Film Institute) and Tina Wagner Sørensen (Head of Post-Graduate Training at the National Film School of Denmark).

The Cannes event is supported by the five Nordic film institutes and Nordisk Film & TV Fond among others.
