The Lawyer is based on an idea by best-selling author and lawyer Jens Lapidus (Easy Money), Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge) and Michael Hjorth (Sebastian Bergman) and follows the dangerous descent of Swedish defence lawyer Frank Nordling (Alexander Karim) into the Copenhagen underworld. When he discovers that the firm’s most important client is responsible for the murder of his parents, Nordling is drawn into a life-threatening web of violence and revenge. The series was produced by SF Studios for Viaplay/TV3 with Studiocanal handling sales.

What makes you tick in terms of genre and storytelling?
KG: Getting to know the characters I´m watching or telling a story about. Human beings are so confused and flawed and that makes them both hilarious and heart-breaking to hang around.
What do you find the most rewarding and the most challenging about writing for television?
KG: I´m a team writer, and the most rewarding is the fun I have in playing make-believe together with my co-writers. And of course, the chance to see your characters develop through long character-archs. The most challenging is that it's really REALLY hard work.

What do you find the most rewarding and the most challenging about writing for television?
CL: Writing for television requires a lot of teamwork, both with other writers but also directors, producers, actors, postproduction etc. So for me teamwork is both the most rewarding and most challenging.
