The current CEO at the production outfit Jarowskij will join SF Studios October 16.
A former journalist, Lindblad has held her position as CEO for Banijay-owned Jarowskij since 2012.
She previously worked at MTG and within a few years became Programme Director for TV3, TV6 and TV8. At Jarowskij, she has served as executive producer on some of Sweden’s most successful series such as Riding in Darkness, Solsidan, Black Lake, The Restaurant, the critically acclaimed We Got This! and film Off Track (Ur spar).
Commenting on her SF Studios appointment she said: "I am extremely happy and proud to be entrusted with leading the Nordic region's - and one of Europe's - leading film studios, SF Studios. Times are turbulent for our industry, and it is undergoing major changes. In this transition, SF Studios is a safe and stable player with exciting growth opportunities. I look forward to working with all the talented employees to ensure that we can deliver on our ambitious plans.”
Lindblad takes over from Michael Porseryd who stepped down last January after six years at the helm of the leading Scandinavian film and TV studio. Jan Bernhardsson, acting CEO of SF Studios said about Lindblad: "She is a recognised leader with experience in both film production and distribution, and as a buyer of content. SF Studios is a long-term player in the Nordic market, and Iréne, who has a deep understanding of the industry, is the right person to lead the business.”
Once Lindblad is in her new role, Bernhardsson will be returning to his usual duties as Chairman of the Board of the Bonnier-owned SF Studios. Sitting next to him is Erik Haegerstrand, Bonnier Group CEO and the new board members Casten Almqvist, formerly CEO of Bonnier Broadcasting, and Sara Börsvik, CFO of Epidemic Sound and former CEO of Bonnierförlagen.
The venerable 104-year-old Nordic brand SF Studios is active as distributor of films across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden and producer of quality content for the local and international markets on top of running the Nordic streaming service SF Anytime.
