In a Better World has a good chance to grab the coveted statuette, having just won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film less than two weeks ago. Sony Pictures Classics is coordinating the Oscars campaign and will release the film in the US in April. In a Better World will compete against Algeria's Outside the Law, Mexico's Biutiful, Greece's Dogtooth and Canada's Incendies.
This is the eighth time a Danish film has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in the Academy Awards. In a Better World was the third biggest Danish film of 2010 in Denmark with over 415,000 admissions. It has been released throughout Scandinavia and will soon open in other territories such as Korea, Brazil, Germany and France.
