Snabba Cash is directed by Jesper Ganslandt (438 Days, Jimmie) based on a screenplay written and created by Oskar Söderlund (Greyzone, The Fat and the Angry) together with best-selling author and lawyer Jens Lapidus, who’s also serving as exec producer.

Lapidus whose original Snabba Cash (Easy Money) film trilogy became a smash hit and said in an earlier statement that “he had been waiting for an opportunity” to expand on his Stockholm noir universe. In the Netflix series set ten years after the closing of the film trilogy, Evin Ahmad (Beyond Dreams, The Rains S2, Quicksand) stars as the central character Leya. The ambitious single mom, tries to make it within the start-up scene and gets dangerously close to the criminal world,in her quest for easy money.

Discussing her character, Ahmad said: “To me this is a story about human forces but also about how vital the pursuit of money is in a world where some don’t even think that class systems exist. Leya is a complex character who is prepared to do anything in her power to be successful.”

The cast also includes Alexander Abdallah, Ali Alarik, Olle Sarri and Felice Jankell (Young Sophie Bell).

The series is produced by Nicklas Wikström Nicastro, for SF Studios’ Senior Vice President International Production. The show will premiere on Netflix in 2021.
