The high-profile Norwegian executive and regular Joachim Trier producer has left Oslo Pictures for the Scandinavian major to help boost the group’s ambitions.
Robsahm has over 50 productions to his credit, including Joachim Trier’s Louder than Bombs, Thelma, Oscar-candidate The Worst Person in the World, Maria Sødahl’s Hope, and Margreth Olin’s The Angel. He has directed numerous acclaimed documentaries such as the mini-series Punx and recent musical biopic a-ha-The Movie, co-directed by Aslaug Holm.
“After having spent eight good years with Motlys and Oslo Pictures, I am looking forward to continuing working with quality films and unique talents in the largest film family in the Nordics. I like the fact, that Nordisk Film has a bold and ambitious mindset", said Robsahm.
“We are excited, that Thomas Robsahm is now a part of our team,” said Sveinung Golimo, Managing Director at Nordisk Film Production Norway. “He has a broad experience, as producer as well as filmmaker, and a strong national and international network. Robsahm is very experienced when it comes to talent development, which is a great benefit as the development and nurturing of new talents is at the absolute core of Nordisk Film, noted Golimo.
Robsahm will be joining producers Sigurd Mikal Karoliussen (Twin), John Einar Hagen (The Tunnel), Elisabeth Kvithyll (Blindspot) as well as Aage Aaberge, described by Golimo as Nordisk Film Production Norway’s ‘guiding star and mentor’. “He has been vital in producing for Nordisk Film the last 20 years. But he will during the next years reduce his engagement and go on retirement,” Golimo said.
Nordisk Film Production Norway’s 2022 film slate is the following:
Upcoming TV dramas include the Viaplay Original Fenris co-written by Simen Alsvik and Maren Skolem. The intense drama about a missing person in a wolf-inhabited forest stars Ida Elise Broch and Cengiz Al. The six-part series will premiere on Viaplay later this year.
