Persbrandt plays Thomas Jacob, a world famous singer-songwriter who lives in Los Angeles. Dyrholm is Molly Moe, the musician's regular producer, and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (the journalist in the TV series Borgen) plays Julie, Thomas Jacob's grown up daughter who has an 11 year-old son. When Thomas travels back to Denmark to record a new album he is forced to take care of his grandson, whom he has never met before. Soon the two develop a bond, through music. But a sudden dramatic event forces Thomas to make life-changing choices. Fischer Christensen's fourth feature is again co-written with Kim Fupz Aakeson.
The drama is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Vinca Wiedemann for Zentropa Entertainment in Denmark, in co-production with Zentropa International Sweden, Film i Väst, FilmFyn and co-financing from TV2 Danmark and SVT. It received support from the Danish Film Institute, Nordisk Film & TV Fond and The Media Programme. Nordisk Film handles domestic distribution and TrustNordisk international sales.
