For the second time, the Finnish city of Oulu will be hosting from September 21-26, the Nordisk Panorama - 5 Cities Film Festival featuring the best short and documentary films from the Nordic region.

Co-organised by Filmkontakt Nord and the Finnish regional centre POEM, the 18th Festival has selected 62 Nordic films (41 shorts and 21 documentaries) for the competition programme. Among the documentary entrees running for the €6,500 top award are the Nordisk Film & TV Fond' supported films The Smoking Room by Jukka Käkkäinen, USA vs. Al-Arian by Line Halvorsen and The Monastery by Pernille Rose Grønkjær.

As part of Nordisk Panorama, Filmkontact Nord will organise the Nordisk Forum for Co-financing of Documentaries on September 24-25. 22 projects from the Nordic and Baltic region will be introduced to some 150 European and Nordic professionals, such as Iceland's Dreamland-a Self-Help Film for a Frightened Nation produced by Ground Control Productions, Simjon produced by Motlys in Norway, Complaints Choir produced by Fine & Mellow in Denmark and Bananas produced by WG Film in Sweden.

Filmkontakt Nord will also supervise the Nordisk Panorama Market (September 22-25) where all competition titles plus 250-300 new short film and documentaries enclosed in its Filmkontakt Nord Video Library will be presented to world buyers.
