The Norwegian film by Stian Servoss and Benjamin Langeland won Best Documentary on Tuesday at Malmö’s Nordisk Panorama Film Festival.

The music doc about pop music sensation Aurora was competing against 13 Nordic documentary candidates for the €11,000 prize.

The film produced by Flimmer Film with support among others from Nordisk Film & TV Fond was awarded earlier Best Editing and Best Cinematography at the 2019 Norwegian Gullruten TV awards, and Best Music doc in Kraków.

An Honorary Mention was handed out to Scheme Birds by Ellen Fiske and Ellinor Hallin (Sweden/Scotland). The heart-warming portrait of troubled teen Gemma, living in a working-class Scottish steel town had picked up earlier Best Documentary Feature and Best New Documentary Director at Tribeca.

  • The Evil Principal by Ida Hansen Eldøen, (NO), Young Nordic-Children’s Choice Award
