    The film by Jens Sjögren (Before we Die, Torpederna) is co-produced by Nordisk Film which handles Nordic distribution. Co-financiers include SVT, Film I Skåne, Unknown, Nordsvensk.

    Story: the biopic about the celebrated Swedish football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic is based on David Lagercrantz’s 2011 best-selling book of the same name, written together with the football star. The coming-of age film focuses on the athlete’s journey, as a young kid of Balkan background, raised in a tough Malmö suburb, who turned into one of the greatest football players in the world.

    The drama is co-produced by Polar Bear, Belgium, Vilda Bomben Film, Sweden, with support from the Icelandic Film Centre, Screen Flanders Belgium, the Swedish Film Institute, co-financing from Iceland’s Channel 2/Sýn, Vestfjarðastofa, Öll Vötn til Dýrafjarðar, the Ministry of Industries and Innovation, Tax Shelter Belgium and Scanbox Entertainment which holds Scandinavian rights.

    The film is based on Jón Kalman Stefánsson’s award-winning eponymous novel, adapted for the silver screen by writer/director Elfar Adalsteins (The End of Sentence).

    Story: The Village is brimming with stories of joy and sorrow, and if you listen carefully it might just tell you a few. Like the one about the young businessman who dreams in Latin and leaves his promising career for astronomy and old books, or the one about the translucent boy who carves moorland birds, or the one about the open-air affair in the countryside and the big rock that is chiselled to dust.

    The contemporary comedy for young adults is co-produced by Film i Väst, SVT, Norway’s Hummelfilm, with co-financing from the Swedish Film Institute, the Norwegian Film Institute, Creative Europe, C More, the City of Göteborg and Lindholmen Science Park.

    Story: The film is based on the young adult novel by Jenny Jägerfeld “Jag är ju så jävla Easy”. Joanna's mind is like a flashing amusement park at peak season. She is 18 years old and needs ADHD meds to keep her buzzy brain in order. With a depressed father whose sick pay is barely covering the rent, money runs out and Joanna can’t afford her medication. To avoid being a disturbing and unfiltered version of herself, Joanna has to be creative in her hunt for money. In the midst of the chaos the charming and confident Audrey appears. Now Joanna's got both a bursting mind and an exploding heart to deal with.

    Producer Annika Hellström says the film boasts “an original and strong main character, a playful love story between two girls, and a fresh perspective on living with ADHD”. Filming is set to start September 17.

    Story: In a tiny Icelandic fishing village, Kristin and her daughter move in with her parents, as she faces divorce. The pragmatic doctor is far out of her comfort zone dealing with her psychic mother, forcing her to face the ghosts of her past. Filming is slated for September 2020.

    The film is co-produced by Germany’s Kloos & Co, with co-financing from SVT, NRK, NDR Arte, with support from the Danish Film Institute, Novo Nordisk Fund, Lundbeck Fund.

    Story: Into the Ice follows three leading glaciologists as they risk their lives going over, under and deep into the ice sheet of Greenland. Their findings will give crucial new evidence on the speed in which the sea level is rising.

    Producer Malene Flindt Pedersen said filming is currently underway. “Director Lars Ostenfeld and cinematographer Frederik Jacobi went to Greenland to film the big melting ice rivers on the icesheet of Greenland and they are going down in the hole again in October to do more shooting and measurements with the glaciologist Alun Hubbard,” said Flindt Pedersen. However the sequences with Danish glaciologist Dorthe Dahl at the Eastgrip had to be postponed to next summer due to Covid-19. “The film will be finished in November 2021 and we are talking to broadcasters to air it on the UN’s Earth Day On April 22, 2021,” said the producer.

    Story: When Mustafe and his family move back to Somaliland after 25 years in Finland, their search for gold soon turns into something more profound.

    The film is co-financed by NRK, SVT, RÚV, with support from the Norwegian Film Institute, Fritt Ord, The Norwegian Extra Fund for Mental Health, and Norsk Kulturråd.

    Story: 77 people were killed by a right-wing extremist in Norway July 22, 2011. Ten years later four women who survived the terror attack at Utøya turn fear into strength to fight political extremism.

    Producer Tore Buvarp said Utøya Survivors is “looking forward” through the four female protagonists’ positive viewpoints. “In a deeper context, the film debates both the mental and physical challenges most of them who were at Utøya, face today. It’s also a contribution to the debate about political extremism, which has risen significantly after July 22, 2011.”

    After two years of filming, most of the documentary scenes have wrapped and Utøya Survivors is now being edited. The expected theatrical release is set for the first quarter 2021, with a TV premiere planned for late summer 2021.

    Story: In certain alpine forests one might find special trees that are worth their weight in gold. Their value lies the unique ability of the wood to amplify sound, making it a prerequisite for the best string instruments in the world. This film is the story about the quest for these magical trees.
