The two partners have just acquired film rights to the celebrate book series by Camilla Brinck, with Nordisk Film set to co-produce and distribute in the Nordic region.
The deal
was signed with Lindrizia AB, owner of the celebrated ‘Maxi & Helium’
brand, which has sold 3.5 million books across the Nordics and covers as well
music, games, and performances among others.
“At Qvisten Animation, we are proud and delighted to have signed the film
rights to this magical universe that children and families are so passionate
about,” said CEO Fredrik Kiøsterud. “Our vision is to be part of children's upbringing,
and with this film project, we aim to reach all children and families
throughout the Nordic region and internationally. It feels fantastic to bring
this magic to cinema theatres.”
Nordisk Film’s VP Sales & Acquisitions Rasmus Krogh observed that Maxi & Helium’s fantastic universe “fits perfectly” the Nordic group’s ambition “to bring stories to life and films to the market that children and families love and cherish.”
Nordisk Film is the regular distributor of Qvisten Animation’s productions that include the pan-Nordic B.O. hits When the Robbers came to Cardamom Town, the Cattle Hill films and In the Forest of Huckybucky.
