For the second year in a row a winner from NFTVF’s Nordic Talents has secured the main prize at m:brane.
The 19th edition of the m:brane Forum took place in Malmö, Sweden from March 11 to 13. Almost 200 professionals from over 35 countries met during three intensive days. A total of 22 projects, aimed at children and youths, from 20 countries were selected to pitch at the international financing forum. Over half of the projects were Nordic, with a strong Danish emphasis.
Norwegian scriptwriter Atchy Konesh was awarded m:brane’s Pitch Prize for his project Jordan. In September 2024 Konesh won the Special Mention prize (NOK 50,000) for his first pitch of the series at Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s event Nordic Talents. m:brane’s Managing Director Lennart Ström participates regularly in Nordic Talents to find interesting projects that are developed by Nordic graduating students and aimed for young audiences.
The 2025 jury consisted of writer/producer Håkan Bjerking (SE), programme director of Buster Filmfestival Tove Mygind-Rostbøll (DK) and youth expert Filippa Krisby (SE).
Their motivation: “Atchy Konesh gave an outstanding pitch of Jordan starting with a black screen and just dialogue, pulled us in and and left us longing for more. With absolute confidence he presented a story that was both personal and political without lecturing us. Atchy personifies participation instead of just representation. A worthy winner of the m:brane pitch prize 2025.”
The main character in Jordan is a 17-year-old football talent, Jordan JR, who is one week from his new life as a pro-player. The week prior he still has one last tournament with his boyhood-club in Southern Norway. There he encounters new, eventful emotions that make him question his future.
In 2023, another Nordic Talent’s Special Mention winner won the Pitch Prize in Malmö. Danish director/writer Las Dyhrcrone won for the film project Medicated.
