After her acclaimed dramas She Monkeys and White People, Aschan has turned to drama comedy for her third feature Call Mum! (Ring Mamma!), currently filming in Göteborg. The film explores the relationship between three generations of women and how a grandmother, a mother and a daughter strive to connect.

“Parents wait all their lives for their children to say thank you and children wait all their lives for their parents to say I’m sorry. This impossible equation is the starting point for Call Mum!” said Aschan.

In the title roles are Sanna Sundqvist (Lyrro, Don’t Ever Wipe Tears without Gloves, Sthlm Requiem), Nina Gunke (In Bed with Santa, Blue Eyes, Before We Die), Alexander Karim (The Lawyer), Evin Ahmad (Beyond Dreams), Jonatan Rodriguez (The Lawyer, Ted-Show Me Love), and Eric Ericson (Alex, Jordskott).

The film is produced by Anna-Maria Kantarius of Garagefilm International, in co-production with SF Studios, Film i Väst and SVT, with support from the Swedish Film Institute and Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

Filming will continue in Göteborg until December.

SF Studios will release the film in Sweden end of 2019 and handles world sales.
