The 5-part docu series directed by Jasper Lake will premiere across the Nordics on Viaplay on May 17.

The docu biopic Swedish Sin (Svenska synden) follows the rise and fall of Berth Milton Jr once one of Sweden’s wealthiest men. But at the height of his fame, Milton Jr was hit by a tax bill totalling half a billion kronor, along with death threats from his father and accusations of forcing women into sexual slavery.

Now aged 64, the former porn mogul claims to have fallen victim to an elaborate conspiracy.

Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, Viaplay Chief Content Officer: “This is a grimly fascinating tale of the rise and fall of one of Sweden’s most controversial figures. Streaming has revitalised the documentary genre around the world, and audiences are increasingly exploring uncomfortable topics. A dark, complex and tragic story that plays out against both the heights and depths of society, Swedish Sin represents a notable addition to Viaplay’s expanding non-scripted offering.”

Previous Viaplay non-scripted original series include Four Hands Menu created by star chef Niklas Ekstedt. Jarowskij has produced numerous hit series including SVT’s period drama The Restaurant (Vår tid är nu).
