The procedural cop drama produced by Anagram Sweden for SVT is directed by Sanna Lenken (My Skinny Sister) from a script by Cilla Jackert.
The 10x60’ series Thin Blue Line supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond is currently in post-production, with a premiere on SVT scheduled for early 2021.
Set in today’s multicultural Malmö, the Swedish-language show gets under the skin of what being a modern-day cop is really about. We follow six police officers in their daily activities. As they try to balance their evolving personal and professional lives, and the fight against the city’s criminals intensifies, the line between private ad public starts to blur.
Head-writer Cilla Jackert (Shed no Tears) got the idea for the show while following twitter accounts from police officers who reported both everyday harsh professional situations and banal family events. “Cilla wanted to show how you can keep your humanity while having tough jobs,” said Martin Persson, explaining as well that each episode deals with a different theme.
In the title roles are Amanda Jansson (Midnight Sun, Arctic Murders), Oscar Töringe (Beck, Syrror,) Gizem Erdogan (Caliphate, Alex), Per Lasson (The Bridge, Solsidan), Sandra Stojiljkovic (The Bridge, Wallander) and Anna Sise (Before We Die, Real Humans).
The series will also premiere on the Nordic pubcasters DR, Yle, NRK and RÚV as part of the Nordic 12 scheme. ITV Studios presented the Swedish series at its third annual Drama Festival where global buyers were introduced to the global distributor’s latest TV portfolio.
Other Nordic dramas on ITV Studios’ slate include Norway’s Kieler Street nominated for the 2018 Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize-Best Nordic Screenplay.
The show was produced by Anagram Norway.
