The Norwegian Viaplay Original currently filming, is created/directed by Simen Alsvik (Ragnarok; Lilyhammer) for Nordisk Film Norway.
Currently filming, the intense drama is co-written by Alsvik with rising writing talent Maren Skolem (She-Pack, Rot) and seasoned Danish writer Nikolaj Scherfig (The Bridge, Scandinavian Star).
Ida Elisa Broch (Home for Christmas) plays visiting biologist Emma Salomonsen, who turns detective when a boy vanishes and wolf fur and blood are found on his jacket which Emma discovers at her father’s home Marius (Magnus Krepper of Queen of Hearts, The Unlikely Murderer). Marius is a controversial wolf researcher, who is also missing and Emma has to rely on her instincts and understanding of wolves to uncover the truth, flanked by the local journalist Naim Karimi (Cengiz Al-Three Wishes for Cinderella).
Other cast members include Helena Ødven (Zombielars), Jan Gunnar Røise (Pørni), Viljar Knutsen Bjaadal (Nødt eller sannhet), Ingjerd Egeberg (Downsizing) and John Emil Jørgensrud (Novemberoslo).
Speaking about her role Ida Elise Broch said: “Emma is an enigma and reminds me a little of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, whom I’ve played on stage: unapproachable and extremely complex.”
Alsvik adds: “There are a number of strong characters who are willing to go far for what they believe in. Ultimately, it’s about survival. To enhance the feeling of mystery and suspense, the director said he will bring out nature's great versatility.
The series is produced by Sigurd Mikal Karoliussen with Nordisk Film Production Norway’s managing director Norway Sveinung Golimo serving as executive producer, alongside Viaplay’s Tanya Nanette Badendyck.
Fenris is due to premiere on Viaplay in 2022.
