Thirty-six Nordic talents and TV professionals will present the latest TV dramas at Nordic Series Days.

The first audience-oriented Nordic TV drama festival unspooling September 28-29 is co-organised by NRK, TV2 Norge and the newspaper Aftenposten.

A packed programme of more than 16 panels and presentations will provide Norwegian audiences and delegates with plenty of laughs, thrills, discoveries and food for thought about the latest trends in Nordic TV drama.

Wednesday will be humour day with the presentation of NRK’s Vikingane (a cross between Monthy Python and Games of Thrones produced by Lilyhammer’s Anders Tangen) and a sneak preview of TV2’s Best Før starring Linn Skåber. On Thursday US showrunner Adi Hasak will discuss the US remake of the Norwegian drama Eyewitness set to premiere on NBC Universal’s USA Networks on October 16.

The phenomenal success of the Norwegian web series Skam (Shame) will be discussed by creator Julie Andem. The series has expanding its cult status across the Nordic region as nearly 70,000 young Danes have watched it over the past month. A third season will premiere this fall on NRK Super.

The duel between this autumn’s biggest Norwegian dramas Nobel (that opened successfully on Sunday on NRK1) and Acquitted Season 2 (TV2) will be commented among others by actors Anders Danielsen Lie, Tuva Novotny, Nicolai Cleve Broch, while actress Siri Seljeseth and writer Mads Løken of Young & Promising will give their views on the difficulty to create a second season.

Then director Ole Endresen and actors Odd-Magnus Williamson (Reprise) and Ellen Dorrit Petersen (Blind) will present the first Norwegian courtroom drama Aber Bergen by Mammon creator Gjermund S. Eriksen. The show premiered on TV3 last Thursday.

Other premium dramas to be introduced by key talent or creators include Sweden’s Midnight Sun, Syrror, Norway’s Costa del Konsvik, Valkyrien, Monster and Denmark’s The Legacy season 3.

The awards for Best Nordic TV drama series and comedy series will be announced on Thursday evening.
