The Finnish documentary directed by Selma Vilhunen is among three films nominated for the European Film Academy´s Young Audience Award 2018.

The other two nominees are Girl In Flight by Sandra Vannucchi (Italy/Switzerland) and Wallay by Berni Goldblat (France/Burkino Faso/Qatar). The three selected films will be screened on May 6 to young audiences aged 12-14 in 36 countries, who will vote for their favourite title. Jury speakers in cities such as Brisbane (Australia), Aalborg (Denmark,) Helsinki (Finland), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Seville), Båstad (Sweden) and London (UK) will transmit their results live to Erfurt (Germany) where the winner will be announced at an award ceremony streamed live on yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu.

For the first time, the 2018 EFA Young Audience Awards nominees will also be available on VOD from May 7, together with the films of the last three EFA YAA editions. The VOD initiative spearheaded by The Milky Way and EFA Productions with support from Creative Europe is aimed at making the films available to young audiences all year round on platforms such iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft and Pantaflix, Cinesquare in the Balkans, Filmin or Univerciné!

Hobbyhorse Revolution produced by Tuffi Films with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond, has travelled to more than 15 festivals in 2017 and received a theatrical release in Finland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands. The US distribution is set for April 2018. The film is nominated for Best Documentary at the annual Finnish Jussi film awards 2018. On February 27, the Finnish Cultural Foundation awarded director Selma Vilhunen a Grand Prize for her significant cultural contributions.
