Ahlsson takes over as Feature Film Commissioner in change of international co-productions from Madeleine Ekman who left September 30.
Ahlsson will handle the support to international co-productions with production controller Lina Norberg Johansson. At the same time, she will continue to oversee the SFI’s two talent schemes Moving Sweden, for low budget innovative films by up-and-coming filmmakers, and Wild Card, fast-track support to recently graduated talents.
Ahlsson joined the SFI as Moving Sweden Film Commissioner in 2014. Before that, she worked as producer for companies including Migma Film and Tre Vänner/SF Studios.
Her credit includes Lisa Langseth’s first film Pure starring Alicia Vikander and the documentary The Armwrestler from Solitude, co-written/co-directed with Lisa Munthe, for which she shared a Nordic Talents Award.
Ahlsson told nordicfilmandtvnews.com: “I love talent development and new ways of storytelling, and I’m also thrilled to start working on international co-productions as well. I’m looking forward to reading some of the most promising projects from all over the world, together with Swedish producers, often very good at unearthing powerful projects.”
Ahlsson reports to Head of Film Funding Kristina Colliander.
