The high-profile Swedish industry executive will remain a close collaborator to the festival team as strategic advisor to TV Drama Vision.
Edström has held the position of Head of Industry for the Göteborg Film Festival since 2005. She has steered the development of the Nordic Film Market and turned it into the must-attend international business platform and meeting place it is today, and launched the high profile TV Drama Vision conference and the Nostradamus research project.
“It has been a truly inspiring and enriching professional journey over the years, which I am very grateful to have shared with my brilliant colleagues at the festival. I now look forward to deepening my focus on the world of drama series and open the door to new challenges”, said Edström.
Commenting on her colleague’s stepping down, Mirja Wester, CEO of the Göteborg Film Festival said: “Cia Edström has played a key role in the development of Göteborg Film Festival for several decades. Göteborg’s annual Nordic Film Market and TV Drama Vision industry events, are supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, Region Västra Götaland, Creative Europe, Scandinavian Films and Film i Väst. Last year more than 500 international delegates attended the hybrid event.
