Four Series, three Docs and a feature among latest Fund recipients

Hans Rosenfeldt’s series Ronja the Robber’s Daughter received the largest grant of NOK4m out of NOK12.9m total production support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

    Recipient: French Quarter Film, Sweden
    Producer: Mathilde Dedye
    Director: Levan Akin
    Logline: Passage is a story about love and longing for a place to belong. It’s about chosen families, created by people who have no place within their biological families.

    The latest feature film by award-winning Levan Akin (And Then We Danced, Dough) is being co-produced by Sweden’s Ludvig Andersson at RMV Film, Charlotta Denward at SVT, France’s Nadia Turincev and Omar El Khadi at Easy Riders Films, Denmark’s Katja Adomeit at Adomeit Film, Turkey’s Ersan Çongar at Bir Film, Georgia’s Anna Khazaradze and Nino Chichua at 1991 Productions. Further details will be announced at a later date.

    Amount: NOK 2,500,000
    Recipient: Nordisk Film Production Norway
    Producer: Sigur Mikal Karoliussen
    Concept director: Simen Alsvik, episodic director Oskari Sipola
    Main writers: Tarja Kylmä, Paula Mononen
    Commissioners: NRK, Yle
    Logline: An earthquake hits Northern Pakistan, leaving thousands of locals in need. A Nordic Medical team travels to build a hospital and make a difference. Across nations and language barriers the team must fight against time in order to save lives.

    The series is being produced by Nordisk Film Production and ITV Studios Finland for NRK and YLE, with co-financing from SVT, DR and RÚV as part of N12. Aurora Studios is co-coproducing. Filming is due to start mid-November, with the premiere set for the fall 2023.

It’s about how you take on life with humour and warmth and hold on to the good times. Despite what life throws your way. Filming in Ystad just wrapped. The premiere is set for the fall 2023.

  • A Heart is Always Red (Ett hjärta är alltid rött)

    Logline: The film is both a music doc about the Swedish rock band ‘Imperiet’, and a snapshot of the 80s, political activism, and the personal price the top Swedish band had to pay to reach fame and success.

    The documentary is co-produced by Thomas Robsahm at Amacord, Norway, with co-financiers SVT, Film Stockholm, Gotlands Filmfond, NRK, DR, YLE, Konstnärsnämnden and crowd-funding.

    Logline: Cornelis Vreeswijk was deeply loved by friends and partners. But he also had a dark side, triggered by jealousy and addictions. As an artist, Cornelis' self-confidence was enormous, but as a private person it was often the opposite.

    The doc biopic is co-produced by Malene Flindt Pedersen of Hansen & Pedersen, Denmark, with co-financing from NRK, Yle, DR, Film i Skåne, TriArt in Sweden, Camera Film in Denmark, support from the Swedish Film Institute and the Danish Film Institute. The domestic release is set for September 2023.

    Logline: Intimate youth documentary series which spreads the love and joy of dance, with excitement towards what make it or break it in street dance, and with deep personal stories. Further details TBA.
