The top TV executive will join the leading Swedish production company on December 1st from her current position as Head of Development at C More/TV4.

Elin Kvist has worked for the past five years at the Swedish media group C More/TV4, first as executive producer of series such as A Wedding, Funeral and a Christening, Greyzone, Modus, before taking on a bigger role as Head of Development earlier this year.

She studied script development at UCLA in Los Angeles and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Stockholm School of Economics.

Kvist will take over as Head of Drama at FLX from Fatima Varhos who will leave the company in mid-November but continue working into 2021 as producer/exec producer on several ongoing FLX productions.

Kvist said: “It will be incredibly fun to be part of the talented FLX team, which in recent years has given life to some of Sweden's absolutely strongest TV dramas. FLX has a fantastic ability to create modern series that touch people and stay with them, together with Scandinavia's best creators.”

Kvist will report to FLX’s CEO Pontus Edgren who said: “In recent years, Elin has established herself as a very strong force in Swedish drama and we are incredibly happy that she will soon become part of FLX. Elin has a competence, an energy and a personality that will add a lot to FLX and together we will continue to develop FLX into the leading production company in scripted TV in Scandinavia.”

The SF Studios’ partly owned production company, has several highly anticipated films & TV dramas slated for 2020-2021.

Those include the comedy The Jonsson Gang by Tomas Alfredson (December release), dramedy Day by Day by FLX co-founder Felix Herngren, the Netflix series Love & Anarchy directed by Lisa Langseth and Anxious People by Felix Herngren based on a book by Fredrik Backman.

Previous hit series include Netflix’s Quicksand, SVT’s The Bonus Family, C More/TV4’s Sunny Side and Blinded.

FLX is also producer of the current Swedish family film Berts Diary by Michael Lindgren, currently number four at the Swedish Top 10 after six weeks on screens.

Meanwhile at C More/TV4, Kvist’s position will temporarily be filled by Sonja Hermele from October 1st until March 31st 2021. She will be responsible for the intake and the overall development of scripted series at C More/TV4, working in collaboration with Nathalie Drago
