The Finnish film directed by Claes Olsson was produced by Solar Films, Nordic Film Pool and Denmark’s Smile Entertainment, with backing from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
Based on Kjell Westö’s best-selling novel, Yellow Sulphur Sky is a bitter-sweet tale about love and friendship, and how we are shaped by gender, class and the time we live in.
It tells the story of Frej, a writer who walks down the memory lane of his youth, full of forceful experiences of love and jealousy, life and death. Back then, while trying to become an author, he fell madly in love with high society girl Stella Rabell and became fascinated by the lives led by her wealthy family.
In the title roles are Nicke Lignell, Linda Zilliacus, Tom Rejström and Sannah Nedergard.
The film was released domestically by Nordisk Film.
Founded in 2020, Spanish-based sales boutique Feel Content just picked up the Finnish/Danish film, together with the Colombian/French feature The Rust.
Géraldine Gonard, Co-CEO & Founder of the sales company said: "Feel Content offers high quality movies coming from Europe and America, and we are pleased to include in our line-up these two films coming from so different countries and cultures, allowing us to bring together a diverse and rich portfolio of stories with unique perspectives”.
Feel Content will introduce the film to world buyers at the virtual European Film Market (February 10-20).
