Baudais will be replacing the high-profile executive Roberto Olla who stepped down from the Council of Europe’s film co-production fund last fall.

Of dual Irish and French nationality, Baudais boasts a 27 year experience in the audiovisual sector. She first joined Eurimages in 2012 as a project manager, with special responsibility for fist films and for the revised Council of Europe Convention on Cinematographic Co-production.

Since 2020, she has worked as Head of the Fund’s co-production support programme.

Baudais took up her new Executive Director position on March 1st, 2022.

Eurimages names Susan Newman Baudais as Executive Director

Her earlier jobs include market researcher at the European Audiovisual Observatory, producer and director for on-air promotions at ITV broadcaster Granada and presentation editor at Channel 4 in the UK.

“I look forward to building upon the work done over the last years to update the functioning of Eurimages and to collaborating closely with the Fund’s Board of Management in implementing our new project selection methods and revised governance structure.,” said Baudais who plans to pursue Eurimages’ pioneering work done on gender equality and to prioritise diversity and environmental issues.

Set up in 1988, Eurimages has since supported 2,296 co-productions for a total of around €655 million. The five Nordic countries are among the Fund’s 39 member states.
