The latest Netflix Danish original is based on the acclaimed podcast Equinox 1985, adapted for the screen by Tea Lindeburg. Danica Curcic (The Bridge, Warrior) plays Astrid, who is affected by the unexplainable disappearance of her sister and her school class in 1999.
The series swipes back and forth between 1999 where it all started, and the present time, when Astrid is peacefully living with her family and suddenly starts to have nightmares again about the mysterious 1999 events.
When the one survivor from 1999 mysteriously dies, Astrid is determined to find out what happened to her sister and the class.
Next to lead actor Danica Curcic are Lars Brygmann (Dicte, Borgen), Hanne Hedelund (Borgen), Karoline Hamm (Darkness-Those Who Kill), Fanny Leander Bornedal (The Bridge), Ask Emil Mossberg Truelsen with Viola Martinesn playing 9 year old Astrid.
Dorthe Riis Lauridsen is producing for ITV Studios’ backed Apple Tree Productions.
