Gorki Glaser-Müller’s film about one man’s struggle to free his seven grandchildren from al-Hol camp in Syria, continues its global festival tour and audience reach, after its world premiere at CPH:DOX in April.

The film picked up a Fipresci award at Krakow in June and a top Human Rights Prize at last month’s Festival des Libertés in Brussels.

This week, it is screening at the UK’s Raindance Film Festival and available simultaneously online at Curzon Home Cinema (November 4-6).

Meanwhile US indie distributor Abramorama will platform the film in selected cinemas in Los Angeles, November 17, after its North American premiere at the US's largest documentary festival DOC NYC (November 10-18).

The riveting story about Swedish/Chilean Patricio Galvez's endeavour to be reunited with his grandchildren, after their parents died as ISIS fighters, has steered political and debates and attracted a lot of media attention, both in Sweden and internationally.

The film was released in Sweden May 7 via TriArt and will air on SVT November 30. It will also run on Yle, NRK and RÚV.

Children of the Enemy was executive produced by John Battsek (Searching for Sugarman) and produced by Sweden’s Cinenic Film, with support among others from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Cinephil handles world sales.
