Swedish writer/director Amanda Kernell (Charter, Sami Blood) will be among five jury members set to hand out the coveted NOK 250,000 Nordic Talents Pitch Prize and the NOK 50,000 Nordic Talents Special Mention Prize to the best two ideas for a first fiction, animation, documentary film or TV/web series.
Up to 15 projects in development from Nordic film graduates will be considered for the pitching competition, held in front of 200 industry people, film graduates and students.
Recalling her own experience, the former graduate from the National Film School of Denmark Amanda Kernell said: “I attended Nordic Talents in 2013, pitching my first feature film and it meant a lot for me meeting the industry, getting responses on the pitch and the core of the idea that then became Sami Blood. What I wanted to tell became much clearer to me,” she said before adding: I’m honoured to be invited as a juror this year and look very much forward to it!”
The remaining four jury members will be announced at a later date, alongside details of the programme.
The networking and pitching event co-organised by Nordisk Film & TV Fond and the National Film School of Denmark will celebrate its 20th anniversary from September 2-3, 2020.
Nordisk Film & TV Fond is monitoring the Covid-19 restrictions carefully and any changes affecting the event will be announced on the website and via the Fund’s other channels.
