Faldbakken (photo) who had his breakthrough with his directorial debut Uro, selected at Cannes' Un Certain Regard in 2006, is going to direct Varg Veum II-Skriften på veggen (Varg Veum II-The Writing on the Wall), the first of six new films based on the celebrated private eye from Bergen. The NOK21m feature film is produced by Peter Bose, Jonas Allen, Tanya Badendyck and Solje Hopland from Cinemiso. Shooting is scheduled to start in the autumn.
Skriften pä veggen will be used as a concept model for the other five films. Film 4 of Varg Veum II will also be released in cinemas, but the other four films will be made for television. The entire Varg Veum II series has a budget of NOK 94m.
