The Swedish mainstream comedy drama A Man Called Ove which has locked in more than 614.000 admissions since its Christmas launch in Sweden and small budget film Drifters by newcomer Peter Grönlund are leading this year’s Guldbagge nominations in Sweden with six accolades each. A Man Called Ove written and directed by Hannes Holm is vying notably for Best Film and Best Actor (Rolf Lassgård) while Drifters is running in other key categories such as Best Director and Script (Grönlund) as well as Best Actress (Malin Levanon). 

Two female directors – Sanna Lenken and Lisa Aschan came second with five nominations each for My Skinny Sister and White People respectively. Lenken will compete for Best Director against another newcomer, Magnus von Horn, nominated four times for The Here After.

The Christmas comedy and 2015 top Swedish best-selling title A Holy Mess by Helena Bergström received nominations for Best Costume and Best Set Design and the documentary success Ingrid Bergman, In Her Own Words is running in its own category against Every Face has a Name and Detained.

Nordisk Film & TV Fond is associated to 21 Guldbagge nominations. The awards ceremony will be held on January 18 in Stockholm and a new award for Best Newcomer will be inaugurated on the Guldbagge night.
