The prison drama R to be directed by first timers Tobias Lindholm and Michael Noer, has just received 4.7m support from the Danish Film Institute's New Danish Screen initiative.
The film produced by Rene Ezra and Tomas Radoor for Nordisk Film, will be both a drama and an anthropological study of life in a Danish prison. Pilou Asbæk (photo - Worlds Apart) will play lead character Person ‘R'. Scriptwriter Lindholm (he has co-written Thomas Vinterberg's upcoming Submarino) and documentary filmmaker Noer (Vesterbro) previously co-directed the short film Hawaii supported by New Danish Screen.
