Stine Helgeland (photo) who has spent the last 12 years at the pan-Nordic distribution group Sandrew Metronome, will join the Norwegian Film Institute on February 1, 2010 as the new head of the International and Promotion, a position previously held by Bjarte Ytre-Arne.

Helgeland will be responsible for the launch of Norwegian films at international festivals and markets, promoting Norwegian locations and facilities to international producers and financiers; organising film weeks and cultural events in Norway and abroad. She will also supervise domestic campaigns for Norwegian films.

Helgeland joined Sandrew Metronome Norge in 1997 as Publicity and Marketing Manager, and in 2004, she was promoted head of acquisitions and Nordic distribution for Sandrew Metronome International. At the NFI, she will oversee the work of Stine Oppegaard, International relations/feature films, Toril Simonsen, International relations/shorts and documentaries and Astri Dehli Blindheim, information and film weeks. She reports to NFI CEO Nina Refseth.
