The second Nordic Talents Special Mention Prize and its NOK 50,000 development grant was handed out to the Norwegian Film School graduate Liv Karin Dahlstrøm for her project Jarle India Unni, about an elder couple who rediscover lost love during a trip to India.
"Dahlström delivered a great pitch for a project with a strong concept, a universal theme and lots of humour" said the jury.
The humorous touches in Dalhstrøm's heart-warming graduation film Jackie also convinced
Filmlance International's producers Tomas Mikaelsson and Boonie Skoog Feeney to make her
the recipient of the first Filmlance Seriously Big Humour Student Film Award worth SEK 30,000.
Synopsis: "There’s nothing left to celebrate!” The words are uttered by Jarle and Unni on their wedding anniversary. Their gift; a trip to India in the occasion of their son’s wedding. A journey that eventually will lead to their rediscovery of lost love.
NT12 jury members: Lone Korslund Head of Nordic Acquisitions and co-productions at Nordisk Film, film director and scriptwriter Hannu Tuomainen, film director Ragnar Bragason, Einar Egeland Film Commissioner for Feature Films and Television Drama at the Norwegian Film Institute and Anna Croneman Swedish Producer.
