For the first time in 13 years the top award of Nordic Talents, the NOK 250,000 Pitch Prize, was awarded to a Finnish project: Hit the Wall by ELO Helsinki Film School graduate Antti Heikki Pesonen.
The jury gave away the top Nordic Talents 2112 Pitch award to Antti Heikki Pesonen for his project Hit the Wall, the story of a teenage mother determined to hit back at life. "He is a filmmaker with a unique and fully developed voice," said head of the jury Anna Croneman. "He tells the stories of a harsh reality with strong engaging characters and does this with real passion and lots of dark humour."
Synopsis: Essi gave birth to her daughter when she was 15. Now the daughter's 15 herself. All her life Essi's been afraid the state is going to take her girl away. When things go amiss she has to enlist her alcoholic fathers help in order to keep her child.
