The 65th Berlinale was an excellent year for Nordic films that brought home eight awards over seven films, including two Best Film/Crystal Bear awards for the Swedish films My Skinny Sister by Sanna Lenken and Flocking by Beata Gårdeler (pictured).

Lenken’s feature debut won the top award from the Generation Kplus section and a Special Mention from the section’s International Jury, while Gårdeler’s Flocking won Best Film from Generation 14plus.The Swedish short film Agnes by Anja Linde was bestowed a Special Mention from Generation Kplus.

Norway's Out of Nature, picked up the Europa Cinemas Label for Best European film from the Panorama section, Denmark the Peace Film Prize for the documentary The Look of Silence and the Tagesspiegel Reader’s Jury Award for the documentary Flotel Europa. Finland picked a Special Mention from the International Jury-Generation 14Plus for the short film Reunion
