The Danish comedy by director Hella Joof and writer Mette Heeno will open domestically on December 25, 2018. 

Joof and Heeno collaborated on the 2014 hit All Inclusive (322,000 admissions in Denmark), later remade as Swedish and French film versions. 

Happy Ending tells about daring to start over again when everything seems to be over. Denmark’s popular actors Birthe Neumann (Festen) and Kurt Ravn (Nothing’s All Bad) star as Helle and Peter who after 50 years together start drifting apart and discover new dreams, problems and possibilities. Other cast members include Marianne Høgsbro, Mette Munk Plum and Charlotte Sieling. 

The film is produced by Mie Andreasen of Happy Ending Film & TV, in association with TV2 Danmark, FilmFyn, Nordisk Film, with support from the Danish Film Institute.

Nordisk Film Distribution will handle the Danish theatrical release.
