Writer Mie Skjoldemose and director Katrin Björgvinsdottir from The National Film School of Denmark pitched their TV-series project Queen Ingrid.
QUEEN INGRID
Ingrid is a single, 33-year-old alpha-female who has never been in a relationship. When her best friend moves out to start a family, Ingrid feels all alone and decides she wants to find love before it’s too late.
The Nordic Talents Jury consisting of director May el-Toukhy (DK), producer and director of AVEK Ulla Simonen (FI), producer and managing director of Netop Films Grímar Jonsson (IS), film and TV commissioner at NFI Ståle Stein Berg (NO) and co-production director at London-based Twelve Town, Christian Wikander (SE) states:
"To stand out in a field where there allready are may splendid works of reference is an almost impossible task to master. Looking for love, searching for the right one, finding ones place n the world is a well known motive. Or like May says we are breast fed with romantic tales of love and happiness. To bring originality and autenticity into this equation demands craftmanship, maturity and genuine curiosity. We are happy to see all of this on display in this eminent work. A warm, vitty and sharply observed story that took us by surprise by its thorough quality in every level.
Its a pleasure to award Queen Ingrid, written by Mie Skjoldemose and directed by Katrin Björgvinsdottir this years special mention."
