Last Sunday during the Cannes Film Festival’s closing ceremony the Icelandic/Danish film Whale Valley (pictured - Hvalfjordur) by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson received a Special Mention from the Palme d’or Short Film competition section, shared with 37°4 S by Adriano Valerio. The tale about the strong bond between two brothers living in a remote fjord in Iceland was co-produced by Denmark’s Darin Mailand-Mercado and Jacob Oliver Krarup with Icelandic filmmaker Rúnar Rúnarsson. The Swedish short film Pleasure by Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts student Ninja Thyberg won the Critics Week’s Canal+ Award. The behind the scene of a porn movie was produced by Way Creative Films.
